On the inside of the slide release lever you should see a pin about 1/4 inch long. When the last round is fired, the “notch” mentioned above should engage the pin on the slide release lever, push it up and that’s how the slide gets held back after the last round is fired. It’s a fairly simple mechanical process. I agree with this.

So much so that my tiny little wife cant do it at all, and I bought the gun for her. I expect after a couple of thousand rounds it will get easier but that isnt going to happen anytime soon.

So much so that my tiny little wife cant do it at all, and I bought the gun for her. I expect after a couple of thousand rounds it will get easier but that isnt going to happen anytime soon. Return the piece to the seller or Springfield. Roll Pin Issues. Roll pin breakage requires immediate contact with Springfield Armory for a striker pin change. Cycling Issue.
